The LG G6: Built like a tank!

Image
LG has built some amazing smartphones in the past, starting from the NEXUS 5 and the beautiful G series that is still awesome till date. The 2017 flagship by LG is the best smartphone ever made by the company and is pretty durable as per the videos posted by many tech youtubers. The G6 looks classy and with minimum bezzels and a huge screen in a small body. LG has even included dual rear cameras as the V10 and the V20.    The LG G4 was all plastic. The LG G5 was all metal but oddly felt like plastic. Unlike its predecessor the G6 is carved out of corning gorilla glass 5 and metal and is pretty solid at the rear. The screen is covered by a corning gorilla glass 3 though. While Gorilla Glass 5 has been designed to survive extreme drop stress, Gorilla Glass 3 focuses largely on scratch-resistance.    The G6 is built to last long with bending resistant materials and shock-dispersing design, according to LG. It has passed Military-grade MIL-STD 810G tests w...

One Plus and Meizu caught cheating on benchmark tests for better performance!

Image
Members from the XDA have confirmed that   One Plus   and   Meizu   have been artificially boosting performance in their benchmark tests. One Plus had even accepted their mistake and has promises not to do this in the future. Given resistance from the community, we assumed that manufacturers valued their own community enough to avoid practices like this. It looks like One Plus and Meizu are unconcerned.   While testing the  OnePlus 3T ,  XDA  noticed that the Snapdragon 821 chip used was forced to run at a higher clockspeed whenever a benchmark app was detected by adding lines of code in their operating systems.  Assuming that One Plus was cheating on benchmark tests, XDA approached Primate Labs, the makers of the popular Geek-bench suite of benchmarks, for help.  Primate Labs discovered that the OnePlus 3T’s OS was identifying apps by name and modifying the speed governors accordingly. To overcom...

Google is going to kill the Google Now Launcher: What's next for android fans?

Image
Google’s Now Launcher has been a staple of the Google Play Store for years. But according to a leaked email  obtained by  Android Police , Google will be removing the Now Launcher from the Play Store and ceasing major updates in the next few months. The email, reportedly sent to Android device manufacturers, explains that the Google Now features of the Now Launcher are being duplicated by the new Search Launcher Services, which device manufacturers can use to make their own launcher with Google Now capabilities. As a result, the Google Now Launcher will be removed from the app store on March 1st, and can no longer ship on new devices. The launcher is the app that Android uses to control the home screen and basic functions accessed from there. Android manufacturers like Samsung and LG are often guilty of shipping phones that have a bunch of bloatware to push Samsung apps, most heavily focused on the launcher. Although there are other third-party launchers that you can stil...

One Plus 3T: Is the 'T' really worth it?

Image
The one Plus 3T is similar to the One Plus 3 which was released 6 months ago by the company One Plus. So, the One Plus 3 is to the One Plus 3T as the iPhone 6 was to the iPhone 6S, Basically 'T' is the new 'S'. It is kind of a iterational change that was released back in june 2016. Its a spec bump put into the exact same design, generally you wouldn't know exactly just by looking at it. The only change in the outer shell of this beast is a slight change of the colour whis is being called 'Gunmetal' by One Plus which is slightly darker than the previous version which had a silver paintjob. Coming to the changes that have been made in this phone and I must say that this phone really is one hell of a beast. It comes with the latest Snapdragon 821 processor at 2.35Ghz clock speed, and this means that the company has not under clocked this phone like the Google Pixel. Also it comes with a 6GB RAM. The best thing that the company has done keeping th...
