Android 7.0 Nougat- The wait is over!!

Image
After a lengthy Developer Preview program starting in March, the final version of Android 7.0 (codenamed "Nougat") is finally launching today. The OS update will slowly begin to rollout to devices over the next few weeks. This year, Google is adding even more form factors to the world's most popular operating system. After tackling watches, phones, tablets, TVs, and cars, Nougat brings platform improvements aimed at virtual reality headsets and—with some help from Chrome OS—also targets laptops and desktops. For Android's primary platform (still phones and tablets), there's a myriad of improvements. Nougat brings a new multitasking split screen mode, a redesigned notification panel, an adjustable UI scale, and fresh emoji. Nougat also sports numerous under-the-hood improvements, like changes to the Android Runtime, updates to the battery saving "Doze" mode, and developer goodies like Vulkan and Java 8 support. The new HONOR 8 and HONOR 5- A new stylish affordable flagship smartphone!

Image
The Honor 8 isn’t necessarily fresh news given that it was announced last month headed to the Chinese market. What’s new, though, is that the sub-brand of Huawei is making a statement by launching the Honor 8 in the US with a competitive price point that’s tough to overlook. Although it’s tough to say how the Honor 5X from early in the year performed in terms of sales, the Honor 8 fashions together a bevy of goodies that makes for a compelling offering. Ahead of our full review, let’s a quick look at Honor’s latest smartphone for the US market. Huawei’s honor line up of devices has created quite a buzz in the market due to their top end specifications and extremely down-to-earth prices. The other two high-end smartphones, the honor V8 and honor 8, launched earlier this year, and came with dual rear cameras and some cutting edge hardware. The honor Note 8, which was earlier rumored to be called as honor V8 Max, also packs quite a punch. The new phablet runs on th

Cyanogenmod rolls out a new stable snapshot build of CM13!

Image
The day has come for anyone interested in flashing CyanogenMod but who’s not interested in the messy business of release candidate builds or nightlies. The latest stable snapshot build of CM 13 (ZNH5Y) is now rolling out for the core group of supported devices, bringing things up to Android 6.0.1 r61. There’s a huge amount of stuff to cover, so read on for the highlights. There’s a new (black) boot animation screen and the new build contains the August security patch (patching two of the four Quadrooter vulnerabilities in the process – the only two the CM team had access to). Wi-Fi hotspots will automatically turn off after being inactive for a while and there’s new notification light controls for Profiles and DND/Priority Mode. You can restrict apps to only use data over Wi-Fi (or cellular) or block internet access entirely. A new Bluetooth device battery icon appears in the status bar so you can keep an eye on paired device power levels and the lock screen wallpape

The Blackberry HUB now works on any android running Marshmallow!

Image
BlackBerry Hub+ is the first pure software offering from the new Mobility Solutions Group. But it’s a natural move for us. Not only is it the latest example of BlackBerry’s fast-emerging software business (already at a  run rate exceeding $500 million a year ), but it fulfills our promise to make the fruits of decades of R&D and software development as widely available to users of other devices and other platforms as possible. BlackBerry Hub+ for Android is a new suite of apps that should be familiar to any BlackBerry 10 user. It helps centralize all of the user’s communications into a single, unified interface, as well as help streamline many other productivity tasks such as Calendaring,  Passwords , and many others. The Hub is one of  the most popular features of BlackBerry 10 as well as the PRIV . Popular tech blog Engadget calls the Hub’s unified inbox the solution to “ messaging’s Mission Impossible” : the deluge of communications we all face today in this Information

The new google nexus launcher!

Image
That didn’t take long. The new Google Nexus launcher APK is now available for download. I’ve installed it and it’s the real deal, complete with the new slide-up app drawer and Google ‘button’ for quick search and access to Google Now. APK: the easy method. Install the APK above. Simply enable  Unknown Sources  in your Security settings, install the Nexus Launcher APK  (or  mirror ), hit home and choose Nexus Launcher. You will get all the Nexus Launcher features except  swiping right for Google Now won’t work  (this is because the launcher needs to be installed as a system app for that to work). You can still access Google Now by tapping the G button once to open search and then the ‘G’ again to launch Google Now.  Update:  While initially attempting to open the wallpaper picker would force close the launcher, you can now  install the Wallpaper Picker APK  to fix the Nexus Launcher force close bug.       Source: Android Authority. ZIP: the better method. If you want

Nexus 9 and Pixel C get Remix OS Marshmallow! Hurrah!!!!

Image
The  Pixel C  has had a bit of a rough run. The device kind of landed in no-man’s land upon its launch, nestling awkwardly in the wasteland between Tablet and Chromebook. One of the reasons that many people speculated that it was such a strange device is that the original intent for the Pixel C was supposedly to run  Chrome OS . Now that supposed intent can be actualized with  Remix OS , which is essentially the closest you can get to Chrome OS. That’s right. Jide’s desktop-styled skin of Android has been updated to be more in alignment with Android Marshmallow and as such it is now available for the Pixel C. If you’re interested in giving this OS a spin on your HTC Nexus 9, you can now do that too. If you want to see how your device feels with a more desktopy feel, head on over to Remix OS’s  Facebook announcement post  to give it a whirl. This software is currently only available via torrents. If you need a walkthrough on how to get this running on your  Nexus 9  or Pixel C,

Android device updates: August security patches are on their way for Nexus devices!

Image
The Android update world slowed to a crawl this week. But there was plenty of other news to gather attention, with Samsung showing off the  Galaxy Note7   and several new rumors about all the new software tricks in the  upcoming Nexus phones .  Each week, all the major software updates hit the ecosystem, including phones and tablets on U.S. carriers, unlocked phones, Android Wear smartwatches, and Android TV devices. Making sure your device is running the latest available software is a good housekeeping practice, ensuring you have the latest features with fewer bugs and gaping security holes.      August security patches: It’s the last month of summer bliss for many before heading back to school. You can at least make sure your Nexus phone is safe from all those nasty threats out there by downloading the latest security patches . There are a few critical vulnerabilities found in Qualcomm components, which should get the attention of hardware makers. Over-the-air(OTA) update

Curvy Samsung Galaxy Note 7 takes giant screen Android phones to the next level!

Image
What do you get when you take the curved-screen  Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge  and add a stylus? The Galaxy Note 7, which Samsung unveiled August 2 in New York. That's right, Samsung jumped right from last year's  Note 5  to the Note 7, skipping the Note 6 entirely. And that's a little weird, but easy enough to wrap your brain around because the Note 7's molded screens, 12-megapixel camera, expandable storage and  water-resistant coating  bring it closer to this year's S7 series than to last year's Note. Since the  Galaxy S7  and S7 Edge are two of the year's  best phones , with excellent cameras and battery life, that's not a bad pedigree. From what I've seen so far, the Note 7 should fall in line as a terrific, high-powered device whose stylus tricks take the Note to the next level. On paper, it corrects the Note 5's biggest shortfalls, though we'll need to fully test the phone to confirm this. And if you already bought an S7 or S7 Edge,

Android Nougat: release date, news and rumors.

Image
The Android Nougat release date is happening in August, according to the latest news reports. It's already out with Developer Preview 5, and we've tested it. Here are the feature in the beta. Android Nougat is Google's next phone and tablet operating system update that's been so thoroughly refined that the company is officially more than halfway through the English alphabet, letter 14 of 26. You can now  download Android Nougat  Developer Preview and test its new features that didn't make the cut in last November's Android 6.0 Marshmallow launch alongside the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. Here's how to install it on your compatible device. First, Samsung mistakenly hinted at the Android 7 number. Within its source code for its MultiWindow SDK 1.3.1. It reads "This version has been released with Android N (7.0) compatibility." Google didn't confirm this at Google IO, it did finally unveil the version number with one simple sentence on i
