One Plus 3T: Is the 'T' really worth it?


The one Plus 3T is similar to the One Plus 3 which was released 6 months ago by the company One Plus. So, the One Plus 3 is to the One Plus 3T as the iPhone 6 was to the iPhone 6S, Basically 'T' is the new 'S'. It is kind of a iterational change that was released back in june 2016. Its a spec bump put into the exact same design, generally you wouldn't know exactly just by looking at it. The only change in the outer shell of this beast is a slight change of the colour whis is being called 'Gunmetal' by One Plus which is slightly darker than the previous version which had a silver paintjob.



Coming to the changes that have been made in this phone and I must say that this phone really is one hell of a beast. It comes with the latest Snapdragon 821 processor at 2.35Ghz clock speed, and this means that the company has not under clocked this phone like the Google Pixel. Also it comes with a 6GB RAM. The best thing that the company has done keeping the specs of the phone in mind is that they have been able to add a larger battery in the phone in the exact same dimensions. The 3T comes loaded with a 3400mah battery up from the 3000mah battery that the One Plus 3 had in it, and this will increase the screen on time as well as the standby time of the device.



The 3T also has double the storage as compared to the previous model, The 3T comes with a 128gb internal storage which levitates some of the concerns of the people about storage. There is still no external storage in the 3T as the 3.

Coming to the camera, the One Plus 3T comes with a 13mp rear camera which is the same old great camera sensor in the One Plus 3. The change has been made in the front facing camera and now the 3T comes with a massive 16mp sensor in the front. So, a big upgrade in the selfie camera from the One Plus 3. Obviously you are only going to care about it is you are going to take a whole lot of selfies. The front facing camera sometimes struggles to focus in low light conditions possibly since its f2.2 appreture, but when focused the selfies do look great and sharp.


And lastly the software, as we know One Plus devices now ship with the Oxygen OS which is made by the company itself and its buttery smooth. The OS is pretty sweet and clean and it is running on 6.0.1 marshmallow. There is an update coming soon for android nougat. The dash charging is also present and it charges the phone pretty quickly.

After a lot of rumors about the Essential Phone that is created by Andy Rubin, the father of android, the phone was launched a few days back. The most eye catchy part of this phone is the screen itself.
